Safety on the water is vital. And who doesn't love the idea of jumping in a kayak and exploring the coves and bays of Puget Sound and the San Juans? Especially a kid! Kids Kayak Academy teaches kids 11 - 17 the importance of safety and the fun of kayaking here in our region. Each week is jam packed with activites and fun that result in a student who leaves our class capable of a self-rescue, assisting others, and able to make competent choices in addition to learning basic paddling skills & navigation. Students will make friends with like minded students who love the water and outdoors. Our instructors have years of instructional training and guiding experience in the San Juan Islands and are just plain fun to be around! An added bonus is that our instructors are also Marine Biologists and have a passion for the marine life that abounds in our waters. Who knows - you may even get to see Orca during the week! Our class sizes are small by design (6 students) to ensure the safety and enhance the experience of each student - classes fill quickly with the small cap on enrollment - resgistering early provides the greatest chance for the week of your choice.
